Marieke is the founder of Equine Assisted Development, a coaching and training facility in which horses are used as a unique means of reflection. She has been working with horses ever since she was a child. She breaks in young horses, gives private lessons and organises communicative sessions. Horses follow natural leaders and reflect human’s non-verbal communication. Their reactions and Marieke’s clear translation thereof can provide people with insight into their own demeanour and behaviour and the effect these have on their immediate environment. This exceptional combination has a powerful and beneficial effect. Marieke did her professional training in Belgium (ISPH) and is qualified as an all-round holistic instructor with a wealth of experience in the corporate world and a passion for both people and horses. She excels at bringing people’s qualities and pitfalls to the fore, helping them discover their own leadership qualities and applying these in their daily lives and work.
“By following my instincts and regularly taking on new challenges, I can continue my own self-development and try to be an open and warm person for the people and animals around me. I like being spontaneous and things that are a little out of the ordinary. I apply this principle to many areas in my life. Bringing people together is second nature to me and by applying my knowledge and expertise I can help people, with the help of the horses, to deal with or gain an insight into the problems they encounter on a daily basis”.
